Mayor Rose Araneo

A Leader Rooted in Keyport
Since 2023, Mayor Rose Araneo has been leading Keyport in a community-based, result-driven agenda. Keyport is more than a borough – it is truly a community. Having a mayor that is a Keyport High School alumni, she brings to the table something that cannot be taught or bought – a genuine, deep love for this borough. Serving on the Borough Council prior to becoming Mayor has given her a deep understanding of how our local government works. Along with being on Council and being Mayor, her commitment to community is extended by being on the Library Board for the last three years, demonstrating her dedication to education, literacy, and community resources for our residents of Keyport.
A Proven Business and Financial Executive
Mayor Araneo is also the current Chief Operating Officer of 3rd Party Logistics Group, a 100% female-owned and led company. Rose oversees complex operations and finances with precision and accountability. Other mentionable accolades in her private sector career include serving as Financial Controller at Jane Carter Solutions, Sr. Vice President of Operations at Au’some Candies, Inc., Sr. Vice President of Operations, as well as being Director of Purchasing and Director of Marketing at Paul Sebastian Fragrances, exhibiting her extensive knowledge of leadership, finance, marketing, and operations. These skills are why Rose displays the same discipline in her Mayoral role by commanding an unmatched level of transparency, fiscal responsibility, and organizational leadership.
Accomplishments and Goals for Keyport
Mayor Araneo prides herself on a result-driven agenda. This drive is focused on every Keyport resident’s happiness and best quality of life. “Smart, Modern Infrastructure” is an AI-powered program that was launched in conjunction with the Keyport DPW, in partnership with Vialytics to use cutting-edge technology to assess road conditions, identify any damage, and prioritize repairs. This facilitates improvement for Keyport residents’ safety, while also saving money for the borough.
Another innovative program that Mayor Araneo has introduced into the Keyport Police Department that allows our police force to be more readily available to respond to critical calls is “Safety Sticks” – this is a modern digital tool that allows officers to issue parking violations electronically that is set to launch in 2026. This innovative solution will help to streamline efficiency across the board, in real time. Along with this, Mayor Araneo has focused on the Waterfront and Downtown Revitalization in her role as Mayor, focusing on the knowledge she has gained being President of the Keyport Bayfront Business Cooperative (KBBC) for three years in her Mayoral role. The revitalization has drawn members of our borough and visitors from long and far, keeping our town’s businesses and beautiful Bayfront vibrant and thriving.
Beach Park and Community Green Spaces
The Beach Park and Community Green Spaces were also a priority on the list to keep Keyport a beautiful, welcoming, and accessible town for every resident. The playground was recently redone across from the Bayfront, and new benches have been added to the park. Most excitingly, Mayor Araneo has overseen the project to bring a brand new, all-inclusive pavilion to Beach Park, set to open in 2026. This magnificent, shared space will provide the Keyport community with a beautiful space for years to come!
Public Safety/Emergency Preparedness
Mayor Araneo has been an integral asset in Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness as an active member of Keyport’s local Emergency Planning Committee, strengthening the borough’s emergency response coordination and response time, ensuring the safety of residents is achieved in a timely manner.
Environmental Advocacy
Environmental advocacy is in the forefront of importance, especially regarding the historic landfill located in Keyport. Mayor Araneo has gone above and beyond to stay in contact with and work directly with government agencies to ensure the residents of Keyport are safe, and have honest answers to any questions.
Civic Engagement and Cultural Programming
Civic Engagement and Cultural Programming are other important topics that Mayor Araneo has supported and celebrated to include all residents, including our revered Juneteenth celebration.
Film Ready Certification Approval
Mayor Araneo has also applied for, and recieved a unique certification to entice and grow local business in our borough, called the “Film Ready Certification.” The turnaround time on approval for this was a labor of love that took over 2 years to complete; but was very worthwhile. The certification allows anyone who wants to film in Keyport to do so after submitting a permit, with the understanding they should utilize local businesses in Keyport during their time here. This is yet another example of the efforts by the Mayor to boost local business and gain new visitors and potential residents alike.
The Vision Ahead
Mayor Rose Araneo understands that work is never finished, and she doesn’t stop initiating improvements for our beautiful borough. Residents and visitors alike travel to the Bayfront to bask in the beauty we are afforded there, and Mayor Araneo has a comprehensive plan in place to continue to beautify and improve our borough. We are blessed to have a mayor who governs with the heart of a neighbor, the intelligence of a CEO, and the wherewithal of a seasoned executive. Mayor Araneo’s intent has, and always will be, to keep Keyport “The Pearl of the Bayshore.”
